I know, I know, everyone is talking about goals. It is a popular topic at this time of year. But it should be something we do on a regular basis because we need to have that focus for ourselves. It's a map of sorts.
Without a map, you don't know where you are going, right? So I realized that I had to get myself organized. Where do you begin? the internet? - signing up for a program? There must be books about this sort of thing out there, right? That's it! In order to get this task accomplished the right way for once, I'll look for a book. Just where do you go to find a book like that. A few nights after my amazing realization that I needed a book of all things, I stumbled upon a show with Jack Canfield speaking. You know the Jack Canfield who co-authored the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series. So he is speaking to a group of people about settings goals for success. He has a new book out, "The Success Principles". After listening to his lecture, it was a taping of a lecture series he was giving, I decided I needed to get the book. He was that impressive!
So the adventure begins. I got to work and began to read. Amazing! Before I knew it I was thinking and visualizing and writing and completing all the activities prescribed. Basically, the plan is written. Best thing of all, I started off the year with a clear focus of where I was going and how I was going to get there.
More on that later. But for the record, that the map is drawn - at least the the major interstates are drawn in with the feeder streets planned and ready to be penned.
